[Jun never wanted to stop. He wished he could give up breathing entirely, if only to remain here trapped in this moment forever. He didn't need anything else, and he didn't care that music was blaring in the background.
But he couldn't give up breathing without dying, and he couldn't die if he was here. He had to live to enjoy Tatsuya's presence, to feel his arms around him and his lips on him, so the kiss breaks after some time, Jun's chest heaving as he just lay there letting his face rest against Tatsuya's.]
Tatsuya wants nothing more than to be able to make that promise to Jun. He wants nothing more than to be able to take Jun's hand into his, swear that he won't, and then move the entire universe to keep it. But he doesn't want to lie to Jun, never to Jun, not if he can help it— and he can't make that promise. All he can say is this: ]
I'll do everything I can.
[ There's a certain temptation to stay on this station with Jun, or to find another planet, or— just a way somehow, any way where he can make it a reality.
He presses another kiss against Jun's forehead. I don't want to be alone.]
[Jun knows it's unreasonable. It wasn't something that could be promised with any sincerity, and while he'd have loved to hear 'I promise I'll never leave you again', he knows that things might make that impossible.
And so that answer is... probably the best one.]
...I will, too. I want to stay by your side, Tatsuya.
[ The words come out soft but sincere, his fingers lacing through Jun's hair. ]
And I want to stay by yours.
[ He wants it so badly that he almost believes that desire could manifest as a tangible object. But that's not how these things work, so instead he kisses Jun again, on the lips this time instead of the forehead. It's something soft, sweet, and he's trying not to let any of that desperate hope leak into it. ]
[As usual, Jun isn't as good at hiding his feelings, and there is some desperation behind it when he returns the kiss, pressing a little too hard against Tatsuya, his fingers tightening as if he could manage to keep Tatsuya by his side if he only held onto him tight enough.
After that, he's happy to just lay there, holding on to Tatsuya and resting his head on his chest as he kept his arms wrapped around him. The music was still so loud, but Jun felt himself relax. His eyes closed and he tried to focus on listening to Tatsuya's heartbeat.
He couldn't fall asleep, but if he lay here as if he were asleep, it might alleviate some of the fatigue.]
[ In the spaces between one song and another, Tatsuya almost thinks he can fall asleep like this— with the warmth of Jun on his chest and in his arms. It's a near thing, but the peace is at least something. He's content to stay like this for at least a few hours, even after one of his hands has started to go tingly and numb from the lack of movement— but he doesn't want to let this moment end just yet.
It's the closest he's come to any sort of peace since this damned music started. ]
