Who: Phoenix and Sanguine
Where: Vid Room
When: Day 74

[ It had taken some time for Sanguine to make sure the setting was just how he'd wanted it to be. The vid room has become an arcade-- not unlike one you might find in his home of Sumaru City, circa 1999. The lights are bright, neon-- dazzling, if you're unused to that sort of thing. The room is filled with the sounds of video games-- fighting games, racing games, platform games, shooting games... there's even a pair of Dance Dance Revolution machines ready for use.

None of the machines require money for operation. It's the one change he'd made from reality and why wouldn't he? Even if they'd had the yen, it's his temporary slice of fiction. They've got free run of the arcade-- he hadn't programmed any other people into the simulation. It felt... wrong to, somehow.

There's a restaurant attached to the arcade and although the tables and chairs are a simulation, the food is not. Sanguine's no cook-- he can't prepare anything more complicated than instant ramen-- so he's bought a couple of prepared meals from the points store. There's takoyaki for an appetizer, yakisoba for the main dish, and to drink there's a bottle of momoshu and a kettle of freshly prepared matcha tea. ]

[ With everything set up the way he wanted it, the only thing left to do was to text Phoenix. ]

sanguine: got the vid room set up. you ready?

Ogre: Yeah, shall I come right over?

[Honestly it's kind of nice, exciting to go on a date, finally.]

[ He's been looking forward to it for a while. ]

sanguine: yeah. i hope you enjoy it.

Ogre: You'll be there, so I know I will.

[And with that he's arriving at the vid room!]

[ D-doki.

He's standing at the entrance when Phoenix shows up, hands in his pockets. He smiles the second he sees him. ]

Hey, you. I figure food then video games?

That sounds like a great idea.

[He's smiling back, offering his hand. Maybe it's cheesy but holding hands for a date seems nice?]

[ Holding hands for a date sounds super nice, and he slips a hand out of his pocket easily to accept Phoenix's. ]

Let's get to that, then.

[ He squeezes his hand lightly, then leads the way through the arcade and to the little restaurant where the food has been set up. ]

Oh man, you went all out. I have no idea what any of these machines are.

I wanted to make sure you had plenty of options. There's a lot of different ways to enjoy 'em.

I look forward to learning. The food looks great too.

[He's squeezing Sanguine's hand, honestly pretty excited.]

You'll have to show me your favorites after we eat.

I definitely will.

[ He uses his free hand and pulls a chair at the table out for Phoenix to sit. ]

I've gotta admit, I didn't cook any of it-- I ordered it off the store. I still can't really cook that well.

[ He tried, it went badly. ]

Oh... How gallant.

[He sits but pulls Sanguine into a kiss before letting him go.]

If you're interested I bet Silk and I could teach you to cook.

[ He lingers momentarily with the kiss before he sits as well. ]

Yeah? I think I'd like that.... I know it's an important skill.

It's not too hard with a recipe. It's mostly paying attention and following directions. But Silk's amazing and I'm not bad, we could start you on easy stuff, get you comfortable. And it's... Fun, doing stuff together.
