(And at least fighting demons has kept him nicely toned—)
He waits for Jun to settle into the bed before he follows him in, walking with a confidence he doesn't feel. He curls into the bed, facing Jun— wait. What should he do with his hands? His hand hovers for a moment before he places it on Jun's upper arm. There. That should do. Not too forward probably? Maybe. ]
[Jun gets goosebumps immediately as Tatsuya's hand rests on his arm, but he leans in against him anyway. His arms were held against his chest as he got in close.]
Mh, yeah.
[He smiles at Tatsuya, feeling years prick at his eyes because he just LOVES HIM SO MUCH. And here they are, together. It was almost overwhelming. It WAS overwhelming.
Jun's voice lowered to a whisper as he continued smiling through tears at Tatsuya.]
[ Jun feels.... right in his arms, he realizes. Like that's where he belongs. Like he's been waiting all his life for the moment he could fit him there, like a missing puzzle piece. Even sleep-deprived and feeling like his skin is made of paper, this is how it should be—
"I love you." Oh. Oh.
All of a sudden, he feels hot and shivery at the same time. There'd been so many weeks, so many weeks where he didn't think he'd ever get a chance for this— he'd missed his moment with Jun and it was gone but it wasn't, it was just here and Jun's here and— ]
[Just hearing that, it makes his heart skip a beat. He loves me, too. He can't help but give a little sob as tears roll down his cheek. He stuffy deserve this, he was awful for the happiness he felt but that self-loathing couldn't fit right now because Jun was overwhelmed by his elation.
He was here with Tatsuya, and they both remembered each other. And they both loved each other.
Jun sucked in a shaky breath before he leaned up, sliding in closer before pressing his lips ever-so-gently against Tatsuya's, his arms carefully slipping around Tatsuya's neck.]
[ If the music's still playing, Tatsuya's suddenly forgotten all about it.
All that exists is this moment. This moment and the sensation of Jun's lips against his own. His hand drifts to cup Jun's cheek in it, carefully stroking as he kisses back every bit as gently— every cell in his body is coming alive all at once in a way he hasn't felt in— has he ever felt this way? He doesn't know. All he knows is that he wants to live in this moment forever. Lying in this bed and kissing Jun, his heart blazing like an inferno— he wants this moment more than anything. Wants Jun.
[It felt so right somehow. All of the things that had been bothering him before felt so far away. All of the anxiety and the tiredness that had heaped upon Jun melted away as he just... lay there on his side, in Tatsuya's arms, his hand against his cheek.
This was the most calm he can ever remember being. Nothing could hurt him here, not as long as Tatsuya was around.
It was reluctant when Jun ended the kiss for a small breath, the blush on his face surprisingly having calmed down now that he'd crossed that bridge. And now it was time to burn it down.
He took in another breath before his head turned just a little, his lips parted tentatively as they reconnected with Tatsuya's.
Jun could die right here, and be perfectly happy with that.]
[ Nothing short of Nyarlathotep showing up right then and there would have made Tatsuya break away. (Not that the Crawling Chaos was anywhere near his thoughts right now—)
When Jun's lips meet his for a second kiss, Tatsuya tentatively flicks his tongue for a taste. He doesn't really know how that works, his experience with kissing is extremely limited— but that damn well doesn't mean he's not interested in figuring it out now that they've gotten this far. It's hard to breathe, hard to think— But he doesn't want to think right now. He just wants to kiss Jun.
[Yes, finally... Jun wasn't thinking about any of that past stuff. Nothing was more important than what he was doing right now, his arms tightening around Tatsuya as he feels that tongue flick against his lips. It's so strange, but it feels so natural somehow. Jun had always thought it was strange that humans showed affection this way, but it just felt so nice now that he was doing it himself.
And so he pressed his parted lips against Tatsuya's, his own tongue hesitantly poking out as well, licking at Tatsuya's lips and hoping to feel that tongue against his.
It was nothing like he'd imagined, instead so much better, here with his chest pressed against Tatsuya's, feeling their heartbeats just beneath the ribcage there, Jun's at least fluttering and picking up the pace. This was exciting in ways he wasn't used to and didn't really know how to process.]
[ Tatsuya's heart is definitely keeping pace with Jun's, a rapid-fire flutter pounding in his chest, in his blood, an electric feeling tingling throughout him. It's not the first time he'd ever thought about kissing Jun, but reality is so much sweeter than fantasy.
It takes a moment for him to really figure out how tongues are supposed to work with kissing like this and he's not entirely sure he's doing it right, but his own does meet with Jun's, gently tangling as their lips continue to press together. The entire station could catch fire right now and Tatsuya wouldn't even notice. Hell, the music could stop and he wouldn't notice.
He doesn't intend to stop kissing Jun until they're either too breathless to continue, or else Jun himself wants to stop. ]
[Jun never wanted to stop. He wished he could give up breathing entirely, if only to remain here trapped in this moment forever. He didn't need anything else, and he didn't care that music was blaring in the background.
But he couldn't give up breathing without dying, and he couldn't die if he was here. He had to live to enjoy Tatsuya's presence, to feel his arms around him and his lips on him, so the kiss breaks after some time, Jun's chest heaving as he just lay there letting his face rest against Tatsuya's.]
Tatsuya wants nothing more than to be able to make that promise to Jun. He wants nothing more than to be able to take Jun's hand into his, swear that he won't, and then move the entire universe to keep it. But he doesn't want to lie to Jun, never to Jun, not if he can help it— and he can't make that promise. All he can say is this: ]
I'll do everything I can.
[ There's a certain temptation to stay on this station with Jun, or to find another planet, or— just a way somehow, any way where he can make it a reality.
He presses another kiss against Jun's forehead. I don't want to be alone.]
[Jun knows it's unreasonable. It wasn't something that could be promised with any sincerity, and while he'd have loved to hear 'I promise I'll never leave you again', he knows that things might make that impossible.
And so that answer is... probably the best one.]
...I will, too. I want to stay by your side, Tatsuya.
[ The words come out soft but sincere, his fingers lacing through Jun's hair. ]
And I want to stay by yours.
[ He wants it so badly that he almost believes that desire could manifest as a tangible object. But that's not how these things work, so instead he kisses Jun again, on the lips this time instead of the forehead. It's something soft, sweet, and he's trying not to let any of that desperate hope leak into it. ]
[As usual, Jun isn't as good at hiding his feelings, and there is some desperation behind it when he returns the kiss, pressing a little too hard against Tatsuya, his fingers tightening as if he could manage to keep Tatsuya by his side if he only held onto him tight enough.
After that, he's happy to just lay there, holding on to Tatsuya and resting his head on his chest as he kept his arms wrapped around him. The music was still so loud, but Jun felt himself relax. His eyes closed and he tried to focus on listening to Tatsuya's heartbeat.
He couldn't fall asleep, but if he lay here as if he were asleep, it might alleviate some of the fatigue.]
[ In the spaces between one song and another, Tatsuya almost thinks he can fall asleep like this— with the warmth of Jun on his chest and in his arms. It's a near thing, but the peace is at least something. He's content to stay like this for at least a few hours, even after one of his hands has started to go tingly and numb from the lack of movement— but he doesn't want to let this moment end just yet.
It's the closest he's come to any sort of peace since this damned music started. ]
